Project LIT Book Club – Igniting Readers, Literary Leaders & Youth Activists

Do youth have opportunities to lead in your community? How often do you see youth and adults engaging in passionate debate about literature? When is the last time you read a book that changed the way you see the world? Project LIT Community creates spaces for all of these things to happen and more. Project LIT Community is a grassroots literacy movement empowering readers and leaders in hundreds of schools and communities across the country. In this workshop you’ll learn why Project LIT Book Clubs matter, how they create opportunities for youth leadership, community building, and multi-generational and cross-cultural connections, and if you so choose, how to start your own Project LIT book club. You’ll also have a chance to participate in a shortened version of a book club to see Project LIT in action. (No advance reading required!) Join us to help disrupt the status quo and bring joyful reading back to our communities.
